This OPITO approved course is suitable for delegates who have actual or potential prospects of command. The course provides the first stage in the process leading to formal competency assessment and is conducted using a generic offshore installation.
Major emergency management principles are covered in theory sessions, desktop exercises and realistic simulated scenarios using our purpose-built simulators. Each simulated scenario is fully de-briefed and a final appraisal of readiness for formal assessment is issued at the end of the course.
Appraisers are all industry experts (independent of Petrofac Training Services), are SQA accredited and follow the OPITO standard for Major Emergency Initial Response.
The programme focuses on:
Personnel from any background who wish to learn more about major emergency management at an operational level. The course is applicable to anyone who works in a high-risk industry.
OPITO approved certification and a Petrofac Training Services appraisal report will be issued on completion of the course.
Held at Petrofac Training Services, Forties Road, Montrose.
Delegates must present photographic ID at the start of the course. Accepted forms are government issued photographic identification, e.g. passport or driving licence.
