This course is designed to meet the initial FRC coxswain training and development requirements for ERRV crew-members.
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions; and delegates are assessed continuously during the course. Certain aspects of the course are of a physical nature and may include lifting, climbing and pulling. Delegates must declare at course commencement any pre-existing medical condition that could be exacerbated by, or impair their ability to complete the training programme. For certain medical conditions, delegates must have undergone a medical since being diagnosed.

Attendance on this training course is open to delegates who have a valid OPITO Initial Shipboard Operations training certificate, a valid OPITO ERRV Crew FRC Boatman certificate and who have three months sea service as an FRC boatman.
This course is designed to meet the training requirements for an OPITO Approved ERRV FRC coxswain.
An OPITO approved certificate will be awarded to delegates who successfully complete the training and assessment.
Valid for three years and revalidated through the OODTP at sea.
Held at Petrofac Training Services Quay, North Esplanade East, Aberdeen.
Swimwear and a towel. Delegates must present photographic ID at the start of the course. Accepted forms are government issued photographic identification, e.g. passport or driving licence.
All candidates will be asked to complete a standard medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
