Summary
An OPITO approved ERRV Crew Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain training course meets the initial emergency response training requirements for the role of an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) Crew Fast Rescue Craft (FRC) Coxswain.
Objectives
Delegates completing an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain training course will be able to;
- Launch and release an FRC
- Prepare an FRC
- Recover an FRC
- Rescue and recover a casualty from an FRC
- Right a capsized FRC
Target Audience
Existing Fast Rescue Craft Boatman that wish to progress to the role of Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain aboard an Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV).
Prerequisites
In order to complete an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain training course, delegates must hold a valid OPITO Initial Shipboard Operations training certificate, a valid OPITO ERRV Crew FRC Boatman certificate and have at least three months sea service as an FRC boatman.
Award
An OPITO certificate will be issued upon successful completion of an OPITO approved ERRV Crew Fast Rescue Craft Coxswain training course.
Revalidation
The certificate is valid for 3 years and must be revalidated through the OODTP at sea.

- Government issued photographic ID e.g. Driver's Licence or Passport
- Swimwear and a towel
