This course is designed to provide personnel who travel by helicopter with an understanding of helicopter escape procedures, in particular, action to be taken to evacuate or escape from a ditched/ capsized helicopter.
Delegates are introduced to HUET training in a theoretical manner which is supplemented by demonstration and delegate participation.
The syllabus focuses on:
Delegates must be at least 16 years of age.
Personnel who travel by helicopter over water. It is also suitable for personnel who have undertaken survival training which did not include HUET.
OPITO approved HUET and HUET with CA-EBS certificates will be issued on successful completion of the course.
Every four years.
Held at Petrofac Training Services, Altens, Aberdeen.
All delegates must bring swimwear and a towel. Delegates must present photographic ID at the start of the course. Accepted forms are government issued photographic identification, e.g. passport or driving licence.
All delegates participating in shallow water CA-EBS exercises must either be in possession of an Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) offshore medical certificate (or equivalent recognised by the HSE) and a Certificate of Fitness to Undertake Shallow Water CA-EBS Training issued by an OGUK registered doctor, or possess a valid and current HSE diver medical certificate.
Delegates that have a Certificate of Fitness to Undertake Shallow Water Training that states they have been deemed unfit to train by an OGUK doctor will not be required to undertake shallow water CA-EBS exercises.
All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
