Covid-19 important update

In support of the UK Government’s revised Covid-19 guidance, we are postponing the physical delivery of training from Petrofac Training’s centres in Aberdeen and Montrose from 24 March 2020.

  • Protecting the health and wellbeing of our people - The health and safety of our employees, customers and suppliers is our priority.

We will reopen our training centres in-line with government guidance and contact you to reschedule your training booking for an alternative date.

  • Medical and refresher training extensions - OPITO and OGUK recognise that members of the workforce may be unable to undertake medicals and essential refresher training, causing their medical certificates and offshore certification to lapse, so extensions will be granted as appropriate.
  • 24/7 emergency response - Our Emergency Response Service Centre (ERSC) in Aberdeen remains open and continues to provide 24/7 response facilities and onshore personnel in support of 39 clients including oil and gas operators, drilling and vessel companies and onshore terminal facilities.
  • FAQs - Please see below frequently asked questions for more information or contact our Customer Services team on 0845 606 2 909 or by emailing bookings@petrofac.com.
  • Train with us from the comfort of your own home - We may be postponing the delivery of training courses at our training centres, but you can access a range of eLearning courses online and we will deliver a selection of training courses virtually.

We’re proud to have been delivering safety training and setting industry standards for over 40 years, and that will continue. When the time is right, we look forward to welcoming you back into our training centres.

Thank you for your support in ensuring that we comply with Government instruction and keep everyone as safe as possible.

Q: My medical and offshore survival certificates are due to expire soon. What should I do?

OPITO and OGUK recognise that members of the workforce may be unable to undertake medicals and essential refresher training, causing their medical certificates and offshore certification to lapse, so extensions will be granted as appropriate.

Installation operators now have the option to accept a normal medical certificate which has expired as being valid up to 30th June 2020. Examining doctors may extend a restricted certificate up to 30th June 2020 on the basis of a ‘remote’ (i.e. not ‘in-person’) medical assessment.

OPITO has implemented a certification extension, enabling employers and self-sponsored individuals to apply for an extension to their refresher training for offshore certification if their certification expires within the next 30 days. Read more https://www.opito.com/covid19
